This beat my storytime fiasco. I ...Yes, I concede. This beat my storytime fiasco. I have ideas.

Let's make a child library attached to the grownup library. Make it soundproof, an outdoor entrance so you don't have to walk through the grownup library. Make it like McDonalds with a play place. Books. Toys. Have librarians there to take our book orders and bring us the books we want to borrow. Better yet, have library sitters that babysit the kids while we go to the grownup library next door and read books and sip lattes. I don't think you want to be chasing the kids through the many, many levels of Powell's. Oh, forget I said DAY. Have him take vacation and keep them for a WEEK, at least. You're likely to get lost and have to spend the night with the resident cat. In the end, we were able to go all these places and do fine. I had to be patient with what wasn't always a quick process. Maybe this sounds super obvious, but you're getting there. The hard part is not fighting your head about it. Glad you had a good library day--may there be many more to come. Now that I have a twelve year old who behaves pretty well, its hard to remember just how many tears of frustration I shed when he was three. (And my friends assure me I'll be shedding plenty more when my kid is sixteen)Laura Crumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15200878892304748308noreply@blogger.com
