He was able to go off his meds by practicing yoga and staying active though. Keep running.
My favorite thing about running is that I'm competing against myself. Nobody else really cares how fast i can run a 5K or 20K, it's a internal journey more than a external experience. Plus I can eat more french fries. And keeping in shape helps me stick when the pony I ride throws a tantrum (happens frequently).
Melissa Hookehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16748921441359165604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4061901719870655346.post-46914969205950057322012-12-05T15:53:37.340-08:002012-12-05T15:53:37.340-08:00I have no idea who you are, I don't have (or w...I have no idea who you are, I don't have (or want!) kids, but I am have 4 horses and stumbled across your blog somewhere, and have spent waaaay too much time reading about your life and laughing my ass off! But since I haven't laced up my running shoes in over a year, it's probably time to get off the couch.

Cheers from East of Seattle. Until their teens, I was a stay at home mother while my husband worked 14 hour days. Worth it. Hard but valuable.

I didn't write much, or ride often, for a long time, and I promise you, it does get better! You're a great writer, and I encourage you to keep up the habit. And never give yourself heck for what you haven't accomplished. Sometimes just getting out of bed is huge.

5K and 50,000 words... keep writing, keep moving! I took the summer off cause I couldn't schedule exercise time, but I'm starting again this week.

Keep on truckin' girl! I'm so glad it's helping with your RA.

I know exactly what you mean about spending all day with the kids. I love mine with all my heart, fiercely, but they have that uncanny ability to get on my last nerve when we've spent all day together. Nap-time is freakin' awesome! So is 8pm bedtime. :)Half Dozen Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00253311679688366394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4061901719870655346.post-83694847646730613592012-12-03T07:58:46.193-08:002012-12-03T07:58:46.193-08:00You are sooooooo full of WIN, the light is blindin...You are sooooooo full of WIN, the light is blinding.

And now, here's a secret about Nano that I didn't tell you before: in a month of frenzied writing, you create a habit that is difficult to break. Writing every day becomes nearly addictive (and I was definitely jonesing in Nov, when all I had time to do is EDIT!).

NOW is the time to continue to write. It doesn't matter what you write. Finish the novel (try to maintain breakneck pace until the first draft is finished, DON'T start to change things or re-write until you get to the end of the story!!!!), blog, write one of those dreadful "Xmas Letters" to your family. Whatever it takes, keep the words moving!

YOU CAN DO THIS!

Also, maybe you need a horse?

>g<

Just a thought.

Congrats on the 5k, too! And for heaven's sake, give ...Congratulations. And for heaven's sake, give yourself a break. You've had some major changes, you've moved into a different life, it will take a while for your words to catch up. That's just the way it is. There isn't a damned thing you can do to hurry them up.

Is there any way you can get the boys into a pre-school or day care a couple hours a week? You could volunteer to work at a therapeutic riding center or, take your puppy to an Obedience class. Both of those things can also give you a feeling of being a winner. Or take some riding lessons. Anything that doesn't need the "word" part of your brain or the "mommy" part of your brain to be too active.

I wish I could be there to help you, because I do think of you as a friend. I'd watch your kids at least once a week, even if I did return them to you covered with mud and horse manure, or tied up with duct tape. You know how much boys love to play with rolls of duct tape. I think I shouldn't post this, someone might take me seriously.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4061901719870655346.post-6407551578355204682012-12-03T04:01:52.066-08:002012-12-03T04:01:52.066-08:00Woo-hoo, you're on fire :)Woo-hoo, you're on fire :)CThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12454384973270742505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4061901719870655346.post-76114884022601947322012-12-03T02:15:51.829-08:002012-12-03T02:15:51.829-08:00One day, I am actually going to come and lie on yo...One day, I am actually going to come and lie on your fainting couch for real.
